E-mail Inspection Requests
Please be advised that the County of Sana Barbara, Building Inspection Division will be closed Tuesday, December 25, 2018 through Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Offices will reopen on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. No inspection services will be provided during this time period.
Please note the following changes. As of October 26, 2018, revised inspection request procedures are in effect for the South Santa Barbara County Building and Safety office. Same day building inspection requests are no longer accepted. All inspection requests must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM of the business day preceding the date of inspection. Therefore for a Monday Inspection, the inspection request must be received by 5 PM on the preceding Friday. Building inspection requests received after 5:00 PM will be scheduled 2 business days later. The revised inspection request procedures apply to both email and phone requests.
Inspection requests must include the following information: Permit Number, Project Address, Contact Name and phone Number, Type of Inspection, Date of inspection request, Special Gate code information.
When the email request is submitted, you will receive an email acknowledgement to confirm or deny your inspection request.
