Revised Land Use Permit Noticing requirements - The LUP noticing procedures have been revised in the Inland and Montecito areas to ensure that adequate notice for Land Use Permits will be provided to affected parties. The proposed change will require a mailed notice to be sent to adjacent property owners upon submission of a Land Use Permit application thereby notifying neighbors much earlier about pending projects in their area and allowing applicants to receive public input before they expend too much time and money into a project that will be challenged at a later date. Projects that tend to raise neighborhood issues, based on past appeal data, require that all neighbors within 300 feet be notified. A minimum of one notice must also be posted on a project site in a visible location.
